Suspects Turn Themselves in for Deadly Hit and Run in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The suspects involved in a deadly crash that killed a man and his dog turned themselves in to police about an hour after the crash.

It happened on North Blosser Road, just north of Rancho Verde.  Officers blocked off the surrounding streets while they investigated the hit and run.

A 56 year-old men was walking his dog along Blosser when he was hit by a Honda CRX.  The driver, 19 year-old Alvino Corona lost control and hit a chain link fence. Officers say Corona and his 18 year-old wife Veronica Corona took off on  foot, but then returned to the scene more than an hour later. Alvino Corona was arrested for Felony Hit-and-Run.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, his identity has not yet been released.
