SAN LUIS OBISPO - It was olympic fever at Cal Poly's homecoming game. Five alumni who competed in this year's olympic games were honored during halftime.

Stephanie Brown Trafton was one of the athlete who was honored. Trafton graduated in 2004 with an Engineering degree. After that she competed in the olympic games in Greece but it wasn't until this year in China that she took home the gold medal in the discus throw. "This college has supported me totally all the way we have great and I'm so glad to be a Cal Poly graduate, we have great academic programs as well as athletic programs and they've been such a great asset to me," says Trafton.

Sharon Day was also honored. The 23 year old graduated in June with a degree in Kinesiology. She then went on to the Olympic Games and competed in high jump. Day says, "It's cool to have a bunch of my friends and my family is here and it's cool to be an alumni here at homecoming."

Both women plan to train for the next four years and hope to compete in the next Olympic Games.
