Kira joined the KCOY / KKFX News Team in September 2008 after working as a General Assignment Reporter and Part-time Anchor and Producer at KEYC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Mankato, Minnesota.
Prior to working on-camera, Kira began her news career working behind the scenes as an Intern for NBC's "Today" Show and "Dateline" and as a News Editorial Assistant for WBUR, Boston's National Public Radio Station.
Kira also worked as a Production Assistant at ABC7 News / KGO-TV in San Francisco.
The Los Angeles native earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a concentration in Spanish from Boston University.
In early 2010, Kira began reporting a weekly series on KCOY called Down To Earth. The environmental piece airs Tuesday nights on KCOY News at 6:00 and again during KCOY Sunrise on Wednesday mornings.
After living all over the country, Kira is absolutely thrilled to be back in her home state as a member of the KCOY News Team, and she looks forward to becoming an active and involved member of the beautiful Central Coast community.
