The fifth largest "health system" in the country is changing its name. Catholic Healthcare West is now officially "Dignity Health." Dignity Health is not an official ministry of the Catholic Church, however, it says its Catholic hospitals will remain Catholic.
Locally, Dignity Health operates Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. More>>

French Hospital commemorated the 25-th anniversary of Catholic Healthcare West, with a tree planting ceremony.
Each CHW member hospital was given a tree to be planted on hospital grounds.
Despite the rain, hospital staff found a place for the tree in front of the main entrance on Johnson Avenue.
