PASO ROBLES -
With the Mid-State Fair kicking off Wednesday, Paso Robles is expecting an economic boost.
The 12-day event attracts 30 thousand people every day, many restaurants and hotels are prepared for big crowds, and better business.
Employees at Big Bubba's Bad BBQ want you to party with them before, during, and after the fair, which is what many families do.
"The fair makes business great, we have Bubba's there (at the fair), we have Bubba's here and so business is good for us," said Rocio Rios, assistant manager.
The California Mid-State Fair brings thousands of families to Paso Robles, many of them from out of town, and many restaurants see a spike in sales.
"It's hectic and parking is crazy we have to even not drive to work those days, but it's good for everyone," said Rios.
Good Ol' Burgers employees are prepared for the rush at both their booth at the fair, and at their Paso Robles restaurant.
"We're going to be running back and forth and just boosting our business both ways," said Miranda Baro, a server.
After a long day walking the fairgrounds, or before one of the headline acts on the main stage, some families like a nearby eatery-- outside the event center-- to sit down, order a meal or have a drink, before heading home.
"Restaurants are a lot more crowded because a lot of people come from out of town, especially with all the concerts and horse shows and what not, it makes for a good time," said Elizabeth Hiwa, Paso Robles resident.
Many of the Paso Robles hotels are booked during the Mid-State Fair. Staff members at the Paso Robles Inn said they are at 50 percent occupancy Tuesday night, but sold out beginning Wednesday.
The Fair starts Wednesday, gates open at noon.
