The California Solar Ranch would be in the Carrizo Plains, that's Eastern San Luis Obispo County.
CALIFORNIA VALLEY - The California Valley Solar Ranch Project will move forward.
Tuesday afternoon, the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved permitting for the 250 megawatt project.
Back in February, the Planning Commission approved the permitting but a few organizations appealed the decision.
On Tuesday, the Board voted to deny those appeals so the project can move forward.
According to 'Sun Power', the solar project would generate enough electricity to power 100 thousand homes.
'Sun Power' also says the project will create 350 construction jobs.
It expected to start construction this summer.
The project also expects to help the State achieve its goal of generating 33 percent of power from renewable sources by 2020.
