Picture Courtesy of Chelsea JonesPACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - On Wednesday, Jacob Miller, the son of Monterey County Sheriff Scott Miller was transferred to the Santa Cruz County Jail for his own safety.
His bail has been set at $20,000.
Jacob Miller spent about 24 hours at the Monterey County Jail. He was arrested Tuesday by the Monterey County Narcotics Task Force for possession of meth for sale. The arrest followed a month-long investigation into the 25-year-old's drug involvement. The Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on Miller's apartment which is attached to his father's home.
Sheriff Scott Miller told Central Coast News, his son's criminal record "speaks for itself." Miller otherwise said he was staying away from the investigation. Although, he was notified by investigators before the arrest as a courtesy call.
On Tuesday, investigators were very discreet when they arrested Jacob Miller, moving their vehicle behind a fence on the property to shield Miller from the news media.
According to the Superior Court of Monterey County, Jacob Scott Miller has been arrested in the past for drug-related cases.
