BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY

Internship Program              (on-going)

Program dedicated to developing talent and interest in the industry while providing students with practical work experience. Between two and eight internships available per term.

 

Unpaid opportunities in areas of News, Production, Marketing and Sales, offering meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet academic and career goals of the intern. Students must be enrolled in an accredited school, college or university to be granted credit for the internship.

 

Station Tours    (on-going)

 

Varies

Cub scouts, girl scouts and other community groups are given the opportunity to tour our station. During the tour we discuss what jobs are available and the skills needed for employment. The on-going internship is explained.

John Zuchelli, News Director was a speaker at this event. He spoke to the class about careers in television and journalism. He explained what job skills and processes are required. He also discussed how to obtain an internship with our stations.

John & Lydia spoke to prisoners that were getting ready to be released about what skills and actions they needed to obtain employment upon release. Mock interviews were held and they assisted inmates with their resumes.
