Local Business Recognized In Magazine

PASO ROBLES - One of America's fastest growing private companies is right here on the Central Coast.  That's according to INC magazine.

IQMS is located in Paso Robles, and in this down economy, the software company is growing and creating jobs.

More than 60 people work at IQMS.

That's nearly double what the workforce was at the start of the year.

"When manufacturing recovers and manufacturing does well, we do well. We start to pick up," says Glenn Nowak, IQMS Vice President of Sales.

IQMS is a software designer for manufacturing companies and it has done well.

The company experienced a three year organic sales growth of 11%, and that landed IQMS on a prestigious list.

According to INC magazine, it is one of the nation's 5000 fastest growing private companies.

"I think for a long time, IQMS has flown under the radar up here. We're competing with the big ERP companies in the world, and beating them on a day to day business, and it's nice to get some recognition," Nowak says.

Nowak says the ranking should be good for business.

"The more companies that know about us, the more companies will buy us."

In 2010, sales were up about 30% over 2009.

The projections for this year are similar, and if this upward trend continues, it will mean more head of household jobs for the Central Coast, courtesy of IQMS.

"The employees that we get here are generally long term employees.  They like working for IQMS," he says.

IQMS is an international company,  and worldwide, it has 120 employees.

At the headquarters in Paso Robles, many recent hires have been Cal Poly graduates.
