The garden was once just gray asphalt. It's now all grown up and as a result of the positive growth in the garden, the principal found test scores are up!
Growth made possible thanks to seed money from the Orfalea Foundation s'Cool Gardens program.
The gift is not only a garden, but they also pay for a GEM or Garden Educator Manager to keep it going and growing.
The Adams Elementary garden was a team effort with help from the Rotary Club and Prudential Reality. Home Depot donated some supplies and parents donate a lot of time to keep it green.
The s'Cool Food program now supports 23 school gardens on the Central Coast. Seven more school gardens will soon sprout.
