SANTA MARIA - Several Central Coast Cancer Care Centers are offering a unique workshop to patients this week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, cancer patients will have the opportunity to attend a free spirituality workshop.
Three clergy members will address how patients can use faith for healing and find purpose in their battle.
Research by the National Institute of Health has shown that spirituality offers hope to those suffering from cancer.
"It's a very difficult time for people and there's a lot of uncertainty. There's a lot of questions that have going through that sometimes they are afraid to ask. And so anything we can help them with to help them stay positive and focused and supportive." Patient Advocate Jennifer Davis told Your Central Coast News.
This is the third year for the workshops.
Organizers say that in past years, they have received positive feedback from patients.
