Victims Identified in Fatal Highway 68 Crash

MONTEREY, Calif- Police have been able to identify the victims in Sunday's fatal accident on Highway 68.

Police say that 71-year-old Clifton Hayes and his wife Nancy, of Yorktown, VA, were involved in a head on collision with 63-year-old Robert Brown, of Monterey.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but witnesses at the scene reported Brown's vehicle drifted into the oncoming traffic.

Clifton Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was taken to a local hospital. Brown was taken to a San Jose hospital, the extent of his injuries are unknown.

Police say that they are still trying to determine if Brown had any drugs or alcohol in his system.
