SAN LUIS OBISPO - A new restaurant has opened on the Central Coast, giving jobs to more than two dozen people and soon to be more.
After about six months of construction, Urbane Café officially opened its doors Tuesday in San Luis Obispo.
The eatery specializes in gourmet sandwiches and salads.
It prides itself on making everything from scratch, including its bread, dressings, sausages and meats.
It even raises its own chickens.
The café hired about 25 to 30 people to get started but that may not be enough.
Tom Holt, owner of Urbane Cafe says, "We are still taking applications. If we're as busy as we were this last weekend then we definitely may need more people."
