Mountain Lion Cubs Move Into New Home In Paso Robles

Posted: Updated:

PASO ROBLES - A couple of baby mountain lions are settling in to their new home in Paso Robles.

The three-month-old cubs arrived at Zoo to You late Thursday afternoon.

They were transferred from the California Wildlife Center in Calabasas.

They were found emaciated and dehydrated, hiding under a couple of cars earlier this week, in Burbank.

Now, the crew at Zoo to You will spend the next several months treating the animals and getting them to a healthy weight.

"I think they're extremely underweight," says David Jackson, Zoo to You director. "Obviously, we knew that to begin with, but it was sorta shocking to see how skinny they were, so that's going to be our first priority is getting some nutrition into them."

It's up to the California Department of Fish and Game to decide where the cubs will live out their lives, but Jackson hopes to make them Zoo to You animal ambassadors.
