    SANTA MARIA, Calif. - At a 2pm news conference, Santa Maria Police Chief Danny Macagni outlined what happened early Saturday morning during an attempted arrest of one of his officer who was being investigated for an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

    SANTA MARIA, Calif. - An officer-involved shooting in Santa Maria early Saturday morning leaves one officer dead. The Santa Maria Police Department says it had been conducting an internal criminal Investigation against one of it's officers for allegations of sexual misconduct against a minor and when they tried to make an arrest, the officer drew his gun and fired on Police who then fired back.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -  Police have shut down part of Broadway street between Alvin and Bunny early Saturday morning.  Officers on scene investigating an incident that occurred before 3 A.M.

Police caution tape all around the blocks, cars and pedestrians unable to pass through Broadway at this point as early as 3:50 A.M. 

Friday night there was a DUI checkpoint on the 900 block of Broadway which is between Alvin and Bunny but according to Police News release, that checkpoint ended at 2am.
