Central Coast Real Estate Market Shows Improvement

Posted: Updated:

Paso Robles -- The 2012 Central Coast Real Estate Market is getting off to a good start with home sales increasing and median home prices leveling out.

Home sales in San Luis Obispo County are up, they increased by a third last year, and according to Central Coast Real Estate Broker Suzi Bussacco 2012 looks like it will be even better.

Home sales went up by about 33% in 2011.

Right now median home prices in San Luis Obispo County are holding steady at $550,000 and $479,000 in Santa Barbara County.

The number of distressed properties is down, they now make up only about half the market.

Suzi says, "2009 was a real scary time, 2010 started to get better people started to feel like this is going to be the market for a while, but I think last year we saw a lot more regular sales."

Suzi has been in real estate more than 30 years she says there are a lot of programs out there to help buyers take advantage of the good deals.

She says right now is a good time for both sellers and buyers. Her advice is to  consult with a real estate agent or a mortgage broker to see what options are available.
