Santa Maria Police Investigate Stabbing

SANTA MARIA - Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred just after 5:00 PM on Friday.

Officers were called to the 300 block of West Williams, on a report that a fight was brewing among several men believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20.

Police say one man was beaten and stabbed several times.

He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery on his wounds.

He is expected to recover.

Police believe the attack was gang related.
