Memorial Planned For S.B. Filmmaker

SANTA BARBARA - Memorial plans are set for a Santa Barbara filmmaker who was killed in a helicopter crash in Australia.

The service for Mike DeGruy is scheduled to take place on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon at the Fess Parker Double Tree Resort in Plaza del Sol.

Afterward, DeGruy's friends will gather in a circle to remember him on East Beach.

The 60-year-old was filming a documentary with one of his colleagues when their helicopter crashed Saturday morning.
