KCOY Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo - NewsHighway 1 Crash Victim Identified

CAMBRIA - The California Highway Patrol has identified the man who was hit and killed by a car Thursday night on Highway 1.

The CHP says 64-year-old Milton Torell, of Cambria, was standing next to his bike on the side of the highway when he was hit by a car, just north of Cambria Pines Road.

They say he was wearing dark clothing in a dark area and the driver of the oncoming car could not see him.

Torell died at the scene.

The driver was not under the influence of drugs.

Toxicology reports are still pending on Torell.
