Site For New Continuation High School Chosen

SANTA MARIA - The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District has a site for a new continuation high school.

It will be built on the northeast corner of Preisker Lane and North Broadway in Santa Maria, as long as it passes state environmental testing.

The school will be designed to serve 400 students and likely will open in 2015.

The Board of Trustees approved the school last March.

It will be funded with part of the district's Measure C bond and state matching funds.
