SANTA MARIA - It could lay the foundation for a whole new learning experience for students in Santa Maria.
The high school district says it wants to build a technical-career continuation school along North Broadway and Preisker Lane.
The district says the new school would serve more than 400 students and could be completed by 2015.
The estimated $15 million price tag would be paid for by Measure C-2004, the voter-approved school construction bond measure and matching funds from the state.
The 11 acre parcel must first be inspected for any possible environmental hazards before the district can pursue buying the property.
