PASO ROBLES - A Paso Robles couple convicted of hiding illegal immigrants after they were smuggled into California is headed to prison.
A U.S. district judge today sentenced Maximino and Melinda Morales to 18 months in prison.
They each faced up to 10 years for smuggling Filipinos into California and forcing them to work in nursing homes for little or no pay.
