SAN LUIS OBISPO - Little by little, San Luis Obispo County is making its way out of the red.
County staffers gave the Board of Supervisors an update on the budget situation at Tuesday's meeting.
At this point, they believe they'll have to cut about $2 million from the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Originally, they predicted the deficit would be closer to $6 million.
County staffers credit strategies that have cut their cost of labor and a slight up-tick in some revenues.
If current trends continue, by the 2014-2015 budget cycle, things should largely be back on track.
