Missing Isla Vista Man Found in Berkeley

James Purcell

ISLA VISTA - After searching for 75-year-old James Purcell for several days, deputies have found him in Berkeley.

Purcell was last seen Monday morning, when he was driven to Cottage Hospital for a scheduled doctor's appointment. The driver returned to pick him up and found out Purcell never went to the appointment.

Purcell was found attempting to register himself at a homeless shelter in Berkeley. At this time deputies do not know how Purcell made it all the way to Berkeley.
