Medic Alert Button Scares Off Robber

SANTA BARBARA - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department is investigating a home invasion robbery.

It happened Thursday morning around 9:00 at a home on Lassen Drive in Santa Barbara.

An 89-year-old woman activated the Lifeline Medical Alert button she wears when a man forced his way into her home.

The man ran off when he heard the sound from the alert button.

The woman was not hurt.
