Whitney Houston Laid To Rest In New Jersey

WESTFIELD, New Jersey - Whitney Houston was buried during a private ceremony in her home state of New Jersey Sunday. The quiet burial comes after a star-studded funeral Saturday.

A lead car with flowers followed by a gold hearse and limousines made the nearly 12 mile journey from the funeral home to "Fairview Cemetery" in Westfield.

Police escorted the motorcade the whole way while a crowd gathered at the cemetery gates. Fans held flowers and signs in hopes to see the hearse carrying Houston pass by.

Inside the cemetery, privacy tents shielded Houston's grieving family and friends.  

Whitney Houston was laid to rest next to her father, who died in 2003.

A cause of death has not yet been determined, and it could be weeks before toxicology results are in.
