Lompoc Woman Thanks Grandchildren for Lotto Win

Posted: Updated:

LOMPOC, Calif- The woman who won $227,823 dollars in the Mega Millions is giving all of the credit to her twelve grandchildren, said CA Lotto officials.

The winner, only identified as Amelia V, said that she always uses the birth dates of her grandkids to pick her lottery numbers. It looks like that strategy worked out well for her this time and she has some big plans for her lotto money. She plans on taking a vacation to Disney Land with her husband, three children and twelve grandchildren.

Amelia bought her lucky ticket at Carbaugh's Market in Lompoc. The ticket matched the numbers 3, 27, 5, 10 and 26, missing only the Mega number of 27.
