SANTA MARIA - The first commercial space flight from Spaceport America is set to take off sometime next year.
The spaceport isn't quite finished, but the agency that oversees it says it will be ready for the first launch.
After years of work and 200-millon dollars, Spaceport America is near completion.
The Virgin Galactic hangar was dedicated last October with a spectacular display by Sir Richard Branson.
Spaceport Authority executive director Chris Anderson says they've finished the entire infrastructure for the spaceport and now it's time for phase two.
The spaceport is supposed to be fully self-supporting by 2014. Meanwhile the first commercial space-flight is scheduled for sometime next year.
