THE 3rd ANNUAL WINE, WAVES & BEYOND

CENTRAL COAST LONGBOARD SURF CLASSIC

The 3rd Annual Wine, Waves & Beyond: Central Coast Longboard Surf Classic, May 31-June 3, will once again evoke the vivid and timeless culture of surfing and the enchanting world of wine and handcrafted locally brewed beers.

Wine Spectator magazine wrote that Wine, Waves & Beyond celebrates "two of the Central Coast's most enticing assets, its surfing scene and its wineries. It is Sideways meets Big Wednesday."

WW& B features a series of events over four days at numerous scenic venues. At the historic Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, Opening Night will feature Keith Malloy's new surf film "Come Hell or High Water," a stunning short that looks at the culture, beauty, and simplicity of bodysurfing.  The second film on the big screen is the exciting "Leave a Message," which combines some of the hottest female surfers—turning heads and dropping jaws—at some of the best surf spots in the world.

Friday night, Barrel to Barrel showcases top-rated local wines and beers, delicious food tastings, a silent auction, live music, and a swim wear fashion show—at the Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach. On Saturday a five-course "Brew Master Dinner" is also presented at the Cliffs Resort, pairing handcrafted Firestone beers with amazing dishes prepared by executive chefs from distinguished area restaurants, including the Gardens of Avila, Marisol, Sea Venture, and Apple Farm.

On Sunday, in front of the Sea Venture Resort in Pismo Beach, there is a longboard surf competition for men and women, as well as a challenged athlete and winemaker/brew master heat. This year $1,000 cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female surfers.

Also in front of the Sea Venture Resort in Pismo Beach, other Sunday festivities include a "King of the Beach Volleyball Exhibition," live music, BBQ & beach bar, and a classic VW display.

Proceeds are donated to Association of Amputee Surfers (Amp Surf) an organization that strives to promote, inspire, educate, and rehabilitate those with disabilities, especially veterans, through adaptive surfing and other fun and safe outdoor activities. Over the last two years, $25,000 has been donated to Amp Surf (www.ampsurf.org).

Join in the festivities and be a part of the California Central Coast's premier lifestyle event.
