PLEASANTON, CALIF. - Deputies in Alameda County have found the body of a female inside a trash can in Pleasanton. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's department is in contact with Alameda County Sheriff's deputies to see if it is connected to the Sierra LaMar case.

Pleasanton is about 40 miles north of where Sierra LaMar was kidnapped in Morgan Hill.

It happened on the 11000 block of Dublin Canyon Road.  Surrounding roads were closed for several hours during the investigation.  The body was badly decomposed, but authorities offered very few details.  Investigators couldn't give the age or race of the victim.

The body was taken by the Alameda County Coroner's office for further investigation.
