SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- The Animal Care Clinic in San Luis Obispo held its open house today and its all for a good cause. This open house included local wines, food, and a silent auction. Operating were rooms turned into educational rooms for your pet, people were also taking tours of the clinic.
Bonnie Markoff, the owner of Animal Care Clinic, began this event five years ago, when she and two other employees were running a marathon for lymphoma Markoff, "we each had to raise 5-thousand dollars so we thought lets make the open house a fundraiser for that, and it was such a great success we've continued it every year, we've stopped running marathons but we are still raising money we just pick 3 different groups to give the money to each year."
Donations are being given to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Partners in Equine Therapy and Brighten a Corner Ministries. Last year they were able to raise 11-thousand dollars.
