Santa Maria Police Arrest One Person During DUI Checkpoint

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria Police arrested one person for driving under the influence after holding a checkpoint Sunday night.

Police conducted the checkpoint in the 500 block of East Main Street from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.

In total, four people were evaluated for DUI but only one driver was arrested. Three drivers were cited for driving while unlicensed.

A total of 735 vehicles passed through the checkpoint with 246 being screened by officers.
