Lompoc - A big development is looking to help the local economy.
A new motorsports park should be adding some high adrenaline excitement to the Lompoc Valley, after it got the initial green light from the City Council.
Years in the making, Lompoc Motorsports Park took a giant step forward last week, when City Council waved a green flag and gave it preliminary approval.
Now, organizers must navigate their way through environmental concerns as well as receive approval from the FAA.
Lompoc Motorsports Carl Creel says, "The facility would include an 8th of a mile drag strip, a motorcross track, a go-kart track and a venue where we can have concerts, it's just an additional recreational venue for the community."
It's projected to cost as much as 2 million dollars.
