AVILLA BEACH, Calif- Crews had to make a daring cliff rescue around 2 a.m.Tuesday morning.
A 16-year-old girl was hiking the trail leading from the parking area down to the beach with relatives. She apparently lost her footing, slipped off the trail, and fell around 50 feet down on the rocks below, said deputies.
Rescuers had to use ropes and a basket to hoist the girl up the side of the hill.
The girl injured her face and complained of stomach pain. She was transported by SLO Ambulance personnel to Sierra Vista Hospital.
