Lompoc Native Qualifies For US Olympics Team

LOMPOC, Calif- Some talented athletes on the Central Coast are working hard to make sure they get a spot to compete in this Summer's Olympics. A Lompoc native has made the cut Monday evening.

27-year-old Duane Solomon, a graduate from Cabrillo High School, finished third in the men's 800 meter final at the US Olympic Track and Fields in Eugene, Oregon.

Soloman finished third in 1:44:65 and met the qualifications for the London Olympics. Solomon is a first time Olympian.
