SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- A 6-year-old boy was taken to the wrong school early Monday morning and nobody noticed for 3 hours.
"I was kind of like shocked you know, what about if he was lost?," said Jesus Fonseca talking about his 6-year-old son Alex. Fonseca says Alex was brought to the wrong school Tuesday even after he voiced his concerns to the driver. Fonseca said he even offered to follow along with the bus to make sure his son got to the right school.
"She says no he'll be ok, so I trusted her, so I said ok and I didn't follow her," says Fonseca.
Alex was supposed to be dropped off at Conrad L. Smith but instead he was dropped off at Pacheco. He was there for 3 hours until the teacher noticed he was in the wrong place, said Fonseca.
Fonseca called the school to find out what happened and why it took so long for the school to even notice Alex was at the wrong school. He said that he was given the run around most the day, but was finally able to speak to Blake Bristol, the San Luis Coastal Summer School District Coordinator
According to the Summer School District Coordinator, he told Fonseca that, "we could start over and pretend this is day number one and have him come back to school or we can look at it and if he would rather have his son stay home then we can do that."
But Fonseca says his family can't just "start over" because this incident frightened them and their son.
Since Alex was left at the wrong school officials said they have spoken with the transportation department to resolve any future incidents like this one.
