Local Sailor Killed In Car Crash

BREMERTON, Wash.-A sailor from Guadalupe has died in a car accident in Washington.

21 year old Emmanuel Meraz was killed Saturday morning in Bremerton, Washington when a pick-up truck he was riding in struck a tree, after the driver apparently fell asleep.

The US Navy says Meraz was a Logistics Specialist 3rd Class in the ship's Supply Department of the USS Ronald Reagan.
