Pismo Beach 4th of July Road Closures and Traffic Plan

PISMO BEACH, Calif- There will be a fireworks display off the end Pismo Beach Pier beginning at approximately 9:15 PM. this 4th of July. But don't think that you can have your own fireworks show because all fireworks are still illegal in the City of Pismo Beach.

PRE-FIREWORKS STREET CLOSURE PLAN:

Westbound Pomeroy at Cypress will be closed at 4:00 AM and remain closed until approx. midnight.  Only emergency vehicles will be allowed through to access the pier area

Westbound Hinds at Cypress will be closed at noon.  All entry into the area will be restricted to authorized vehicles only.  Vehicles will be permitted to exit.  

The entire pier will be closed at 10:00am.   The pier parking lot will be closed the entire day.    There will be NO parking in the Pier Lot for this event prior, during, or after.

POST FIREWORKS STREETS CLOSURE AND TRAFFIC CONTROL:

The fireworks generally start at 9:15 PM and conclude at 9:45 PM.   Street closures will begin at 9:10 PM.  The goal is to route all vehicles out of the downtown area as rapidly as possible. 

The primary goal of the Pismo Beach Police Department after the firework show is to assist in getting vehicles out of the downtown area in a safe manner.  In order to accomplish this, various street closures will be initiated.  The primary flow of traffic will be S/B onto Highway 101 from Price Street, vehicles traveling north on Price Street north of Pomeroy will be directed east on Wadsworth and north on Bello Street to N/B Highway 101.  Vehicles traveling north on Highway 1 north of Pomeroy will also be directed east onto Wadsworth and north onto Bello to N/B Highway 101. 

Vehicles on Highway 1 between Hinds Avenue and Oceanview will be directed east onto Oceanview to Price Street and S/B onto Highway 101. 

Vehicles north of Wadsworth on Highway 1 will be directed North onto Price Street and continue N/B on Price Street to Mattie and directed east under the highway to Highway 101 N/B.

Vehicles coming from the Dino Caves area will be directed onto N/B Shell Beach Road.  When traffic lightens vehicle will be able to exit Dino Caves S/B to the Cliff Avenue on-ramp 101 S/B.
