AVAILA BEACH, Calif.- Residents who live at the mobile home park in Port San Luis Obispo are having to look for new place to live to make room for the Harbor Terrace Project.
The plan was approved Thursday that would close down the park. Commissioners also discussed a relocation plan for the eight people who still live in the park. The land will be developed into a new campground with businesses.
Central Coast News spoke with the manager last week and he says once the plan is set, it would take as long as a year to close down the park, but people who have camped at the site for years are disappointed.
"Absolutely heartbroken to see this place go away this is sort of our sanctuary up here and I don't know where else we would go to have this kind of view and the elements of the whole bay that happens up here," says Evelyn Sinn, a camper at the park.
The district has budgeted about $150,000 to close down the park.
