SAN JOSE, Calif.- The battle is brewing over the estate of Thomas Kinkade.
Kinkade, known as the "Painter of the Light," died in his Los Gatos home this past Spring in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Now, there's a battle in court between his wife and girlfriend, over who's the executor of Kinkade's estate.
Kinkade was separated from his wife and living with Amy Pinto when he died in April.
Pinto-Walsh has submitted hand written notes saying the artist left her $10 million, a claim his widow, Nanette Kinkade, disputes.
"Chicken scratch is the best way I can describe it. It doesn't look like whoever wrote it was in his right mind," says Attorney Dal Cielo.
A status hearing has been set for August 13th.
