SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- The Central Coast is a big draw for tourism and hotels are usually slammed on holidays. People are still packing up for Independence Day, but many hotels are not seeing what they expected, full capacity.
The Madonna Inn, in San Luis Obispo is at 75-percent, the Holiday Inn Express in Grover Beach was the same and even the Pismo Beach Hotel was only at 85-percent!
Even so, local hotels are hoping for the best. "With the holiday being midweek we are not as busy as we normally would be on a weekend, we are looking close to 80-percent, hopefully that will change to being a sold out night and continue into the weekend for the holiday," said Stephanie Figone, Manager at Apple Farm Inn.
Many hotels say they are hopeful they will get busier as the night goes on.
