SANTA MARIA, Calif.- A local military hero is now back home with his family after being in Afghanistan for deployment.
Lt. Col. Michael Kwasnoski from the US Air Force was welcomed by dozens Friday at the Santa Maria Airport as he returned home from multiple deployments.
"It's fantastic you know, it's exciting to be home and representing everyone that can't be home right now, there's still a lot of folks downrange that are in harms way, more than others like myself, so we have to think about them and their families as this time," says Lt. Col. Michael Kwasnoski.
Kwasnoski's flight came in just after 5:00 Friday evening and it wasn't long after he was greeted with hugs and kisses.
