SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif-A woman accused of running over a bicyclist in a San Luis Obispo parking lot last month says there was no accomplice! It allegedly happened on June 25th in the target parking lot off Los Osos Valley Road.
Police say there was an argument going on between 54-year-old Mark Douglas and another man who officers say was with of Olivia Ripple. They say when Douglas tried to get away on his bike, the other man jumped in a van, driven by Ripple and was then hit by the van causing minor injuries.
San Luis Obispo Police say they're using security camera video from the target parking lot as a key piece of evidence. Right now police don't have any leads to follow up with because Ripple is telling them she was alone that night. Although police say the video clearly shows she wasn't.
Ripple was in court this morning on her current charge "assault with a deadly weapon." Now Ripple has a record in San Luis Obispo County that dates back a year ago. She was charged for battery and was put on probation until February of 2013. One of her requirements was to get mental health counseling.
Back in April she was cited by the City of San Luis Obispo for using her car to sleep in, she also has two prior misdemeanor drug charges. Ripple will be back in court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing.
