SOLVANG, Calif.- Santa Barbara County Police are looking for the suspect who smashed the window's of a bike shop in Solvang, then ran off with two road bikes worth more than $2,000.
Police tell Central Coast News the break-in happened at 4:30 Wednesday morning at Dr. J's Bicycle Shop located at the 1700 block of Mission Drive.
The surveillance video from the shop shows the suspect wearing a mask, camouflage pants, a black shirt and black boots running into the store and leaving with two bikes in hand. Police say they are having a tough time identifying the suspect because his face and body was completely covered. As for the owner of the shop he tells Central Coast News what he plans on doing in the meantime.
"We just have spent all this time, we remodeled and we opened up this, you know, brand new wing, we were really excited to open and we got a lot more people coming into town. I think just short of it we're just going to have to put some bars in the window and just beef up the security and I don't know, maybe get a very large dog in our shop I don't know," says Corey Evans, Owner, Dr. J's Bicycle Shop.
Police are asking the public if they know anything to contact them.
