PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Paso Robles Police are investigating what they are calling a, "Suspicious Death" involving a train and pedestrian near 24th street.
According to Police, Monday, July 16, 2012 at approximately 5:36PM, the Paso Robles Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting an accident involving a train and a pedestrian in the area of 24th Street. Upon arrival, PRPD officers located a white male adult, approximately 60 years of age, laying on the railroad tracks with a northbound train stopped nearby.
Personnel from the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services and San Luis Ambulance attempted lifesaving efforts but the subject was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the PRPD are working with coroner investigators from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department and the Union Pacific Railroad PD to determine the circumstances surrounding this suspicious death.
The identification of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin.
