Santa Barbara Man Who Helped Alleged Child Molester Jeffrey Parish Arrested

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Felony Fugitive Unit and FBI made a big arrest Tuesday, nabbing Luis Procopio Urbina for aiding and concealing Fugitive Jeffrey Parish.

Urbina resides in Santa Barbara but is originally from Guatemala and still has family there.

The investigation revealed that from 2005 up until 2011, Urbina was actively assisting in helping Jeffrey Parish remain free by sending large amounts of money to him through another person in Guatemala via Western Union transfers. 

Urbina also facilitated email communications between Jeffrey Parish and his mother, Vivian Parish. Urbina is the primary caretaker for Mrs. Parish who is 90 years old and still resides in Santa Barbara.

Urbina was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for a violation of Penal Code Section 32 – (Conceals harbors or aids a principal in a felony), with bail set at 20,000.00.
