Santa Barbara -- Police are searching for a missing Santa Barbara man in connection with three attacks on homeless people.
Investigators are calling the David Ben Keyes II a person of interest in the recent stabbings in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Hollywood. Keyes a self-described Santa Barbara musician hasn't been seen in weeks.
Two men and a woman, all three homeless and in their fifties, were stabbed in the back as they slept. In the first case on July 3rd a man was found face down on the side walk with a knife in his back, the most recent stabbing was this morning. All three victims survived.
Investigators say the attacker left a typed note, police describe as a death warrant, on each victim. They want to talk to Keyes about the typed death warrants because they were all signed with his name.
Pictures of Keyes on his Facebook page show him with camping gear and in several pictures he is holding a rifle.
Investigators are looking for Keyes on the Central Coast and in the LA area. They stress that at this time he is only considered a person of interest. They are also advising the homeless to stay overnight in shelters as a precaution.
