LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST, Calif.- After a two month long investigation, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office confiscated more than 5,000 marijuana plants.
Three growing operations were located on Los Padres National Forest land south of Santa Margarita Lake Road. Detectives had to reach the grow site by helicopter and that helicopter was also used to make 14 trips to remove a large amount of trash.
As a result of the investigation on Tuesday July 17th, four people were arrested after detectives searched two homes in Bakersfield, finding seven pounds of marijuana and six pounds of marijuana seeds.
28-year-old Jose Luis Villa-Carmino, 26-year-old Rafael Deniz-Lopez, 27-year-old Pablo Ramirez-Ayala and 30-year-old Jose Herrera-Aguilera were arrested. All four of the suspects have immigration holds.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and more arrests are expected.
