NEW YORK CITY, New York- There are new developments in the child sex abuse case of former Penn State Assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. A key witness whose identity was not known during Sandusky's trial has apparently come forward with his story and recordings.
Missing from the witness stand during Sandusky's trial was victim number two, the young boy whom fellow coach Michael McQueary said he saw being raped by Sandusky in a Penn State shower in 2001. He was never named, but now attorneys representing a man, who says he was that boy, say they will sue the school.
They are basing their claims on voice messages they say Sandusky left for their client just last September less than two months before his arrest.
The recordings include sound from Sandusky saying, ""probably ought to just go forward. I would be very firm and express my feelings. But, you know, there is nothing really to hide.."
The attorneys say Sandusky kept trying to control their client right up until his arrest, offering football tickets, as other witnesses testified and telling the young man that he loved him.
"Just calling to see you know whether you had any interest in going to the Penn State game this Saturday. I hope to talk to you later... thanks. I love you," includes another recording.
The attorneys say they will also sue others in connection to their client's abuse, and the horrific conduct that allowed it to continue.
