SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- A Santa Barbara man is behind bars Thursday after police say he molested a 14-year-old girl after getting her drunk.
Police say 42-year-old Carlos Albert Seijas met the girl on July 14th. Apparently the 14-year-old was staying with her grandma in Santa Barbara when she left her house to take a walk on State Street and go to the wharf.
While on 500 State Street the victim met Seijas, who agreed to go to the wharf and spend time with her. Not long after, Seijas and the victim became heavily intoxicated and left to go to his house at 1226 E. Montecito Street where he molested her.
The victim says Seijas initially told her he was younger. The following day police say the victim told her mother what happened.
Seijas has been booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
